RMX PCTRL is a Midi Editor Complex environment tool for controlling Stylus RMX via Logic Pro

The RMX POWER CONTROL new features include:

Improved RMX Edit Page workspace - designed in the new environment editor, which provides direct access and overview of all LFOS, Envelopes and Chaos Designer parameters.

New vector faders are added to the Synth Edit page (environment editor) for dual control of some parameters such as Cut & Reso etc. Mute and Solo buttons are added to the Synth Edit page for fast part auditioning and editing.

Snapshot ("SS" - quick save) of the Editors and internal clipboard management of the snapshots/presets, supported by the new "Control Header" environment tool. The new snapshot (SS) feature supports realtime (quick save) operation, so you can edit and save/load your presets while Logic is running.

Program Change and Control Change of the snapshots/presets support. Thanks to the new Program change presets control, you can directly switch your presets using external controller or select a Program Name Part preset directly from the track "Prg" Inspector box in the Arrange. The RMX POWER CTRL Multi Instrument comes with eight factory program name banks.

Ultimate "Key Switcher" float tool. The Key Switcher tool transforms key notes to Program Change messages. Up to eight different (previously mapped to a key) Program Change messages can be sent per key note, using custom midi channel setup to recall different presets from each RMX Part Editor (including Synth Edit, Chaos Designer and Part Mixer). Using the Kew Switcher, you can play your external keyboard to jam with the RMX snapshots/presets or record snapshot automation note events on a specially assigned Logic arrange track.

Parameter Randomizer editor which generates cool fader beat-jumping of the RMX Synth & Chaos editor parameters. It supports real time "Learn" feature and instant settings saving.

Integrated Hyper Sets, and easy draw or edit CC# automation, using a huge array of event definitions named according to the corresponding parameter of Synth Edit, Chaos Designer and Mixer editors.

Screenset Palettes. There are nine Screenset Palettes for all RMX POWER CTRL parts and the mixer, where you can switch quickly to the corresponding Part or Mixer screenset. The new Screenset Palette supports custom Screenset # assign as well.

Universal Learn Template Map. RMX Power CTRL comes with 625 pre-learned CC# parameter assignments map, which saves time to “Learn Control” or “Enable Host Automation” before hand to automate Stylus RMX parameters via the host sequencer.

PARTSTRIP quick elements description
Place your mouse pointer over the red hot-spots (1-5) in the picture below to show the quick sticky notes !

The main folder named "RMX Power CTRL" is organized into subfolders where you can find the documentation, Logic song templates etc.

The RMX Power CTRL comes with a detailed Operation Manual placed in the Documentation folder - (See the demo Contents page).

The Readme file placed in the “Logic Templates” subfolder gives information about each template usage and where to place the “Vox De Bulgaria Demo” suite in your SAGE folder if you want to try the “RMX Power CTRL Demo” Logic template song shown in the Demo Video of this site. You can try the Demo presets/snapshots for parts 1-4 with other RMX grooves of your SAGE library as well.

There are two document files in the Program Names folder using plain program numbers which can be modified into custom names and copied/pasted into the RMX Multi or the correspondent Control Header “Presets” text fader.

The default Randomizer midi regions (loops) are packed into one Midi file which can be used as a template or if you want to import the RMX Power Control into another project (it is well described step by step in the Operation Manual).

1.Logic Pro 8 or 9. (Go to home page)
2.Stylus RMX 1.8.x recommended – read the notes below! (Go to home page)

Note A: After the Stylus RMX update, the “Midi Learn-Host Automation” parameter names are displayed in Logic 9's track automation menu. Unfortunately this new feature adds another Logic 9's problem which has not been announced very well… The problem is that reading a huge amount of “Midi Learn” assignments (for example the RMX Power CTRL map comes with 625 CC# assignments) takes time during Logic 9's project loading (1-2 min with the older versions and about 20 sec with the latest v1.9.4d depending on the different systems).

RMX Power Control comes with a huge array of Hyper Sets well organized in groups for all the 8 parts parameter names and the Mixer, programmed according to the “RMX Power CTRL Universal Midi Learn Map”. Using the Hyper Sets saves time to program “Host Automation” or “Midi Learn” maps before hand and gives you an alternative method of displaying the Stylus parameter names in Logic using older RMX versions.

Note B: To prevent the problem described in “Note A” you can use Stylus RMX 1.9.x latest version with Logic 8.0.2 (recommended) which will eliminate the “Host Automation” parameter names reading, because Logic 8 is not compatible with such feature. Another known issue is that Stylus RMX 1.9.x GUI takes more system resources than 1.8.x versions and may stack its midi responding regarding the RMX Power CTRL parameter snapshots for a while.

The Stylus RMX Learn Template map can be used in a number of ways:

• In case you want to import the RMX Power Control layer into another project, you must import that map into the existing or newly inserted Logic software instrument RMX instance.

• You can use the “Universal” map without RMX Power Control midi editors. Just insert the map into any Stylus RMX instance and draw or record CC# automation from scratch. Looking at the Operation Manual you can find “Midi Learn template map” pictures of the Edit, Chaos or Mixer editors where the CC#s are typed directly next to each parameter. You may also import the Hyper Sets from the provided Templates and use with Stylus RMX only in a given song project.

• You can use another DAW application and import the “RMX Power CTRL.ctl_rmx” midi learn template map file into the Stylus RMX software instrument instance. This will save time to create “ Midi learn” or “Host Automation” maps before-hand. You can get an idea about the CC numbers mapping from the Operation Manual provided in this pack (recommended) or from the RMX menu “ Midi Learn->Show All” document.
